Four Easy Spine Stretches

  1. The Cat-Cow Stretch: This stretch helps to loosen up the spine and improve flexibility. To do this stretch, start on all fours with your hands directly below your shoulders and your knees directly below your hips. Arch your back and look up, then tuck your chin and round your back, looking at your navel. Repeat 10-12 times.
  2. The Chest Stretch: This stretch helps to open up the chest and improve posture. To do this stretch, stand with your feet hip-width apart and clasp your hands behind your back. Squeeze your shoulder blades together and hold for 30 seconds. Repeat 3 times.
  3. The Hamstring Stretch: This stretch helps to lengthen the hamstrings and improve posture. To do this stretch, sit in a chair or on the floor with both legs extended forward. Lean forward, keeping your back straight, until you feel a stretch in the back of your thighs. Hold for 30 seconds. Repeat 3 times.
  4. The Neck Stretch: This stretch helps to loosen up the neck muscles and improve posture. To do this stretch, sit or stand tall with relaxed shoulders. Tilt your head to one side, then use your hand to gently apply pressure to the base of your skull to deepen the stretch. Hold for 30 seconds. Repeat on the other side.
